For over five decades I have lived away from Thailand, carrying memories of my hometown that were mainly centred on the kitchen in my family home, a traditional teak house built one hundred years ago. It was in this kitchen that I helped my mother prepare meals and where my love of food began.

During August and September, it is the rainy season in Nan. It can be hot and humid. with temperatures of 25C-35C. Some tropical downpours may occur (umbrellas are provided). You will need to use sun protection, drink plenty of water and add electrolytes regularly. On some excursions, you may be required to walk up to 1km at a time. Unfortunately in Nan, not all the places we visit have wheelchair or physically disabled accessibility.
Nan is very much a foodie town. While local cuisine includes pork, chicken and fish, many of the places have adjusted to vegetarian and vegan diets for our groups. Gluten free diets can be accommodated but Nan Experience is unable to accommodate people on FODMAP diets or who have Coeliac disease.
